A practical guide to AI risk assessment. Understand how to identify, evaluate and manage AI risks across data, models and decision-making processes.
As organisations begin to integrate artificial intelligence into their operations, the need for structured risk assessment becomes more immediate. AI introduces new capabilities, but also new forms of uncertainty. Unlike traditional systems, its behaviour is not always predictable, and its impact often extends across multiple parts of the organisation.
Traditional risk assessments tend to focus on known risks within defined processes. AI changes that. Because AI systems can produce probabilistic outputs, the same input does not always lead to the same result. This introduces uncertainty into decision-making and makes it harder to define clear boundaries of risk.
