Built on decades of experience in regulated environments

Before founding 3Be, our team spent decades working across consultancy, audit, cybersecurity, software engineering and governance. Together, they brought experience from hundreds of governance, risk and compliance projects across regulated and standards-driven environments.

Although their backgrounds were different, they reached the same conclusion: organisations rarely struggle to understand compliance requirements. The real challenge is turning those requirements into systems that work in practice.

The same patterns, again and again

Across different industries, frameworks and regulatory environments, the challenges were often remarkably similar.

  • Information was fragmented: policies, evidence, records and responsibilities were spread across spreadsheets, documents and disconnected systems.
  • Ownership was unclear: critical activities often depended on individual knowledge rather than visible processes and shared accountability.
  • Compliance was difficult to operationalise: requirements were understood, but turning them into consistent day-to-day activities remained a challenge.
  • Systems added complexity: many platforms stored compliance but did little to improve visibility, efficiency or day-to-day execution.
  • Audit preparation was reactive: evidence and records were often gathered under pressure rather than maintained continuously throughout the year.
  • Relationships were disconnected: consultants, auditors, suppliers and internal teams frequently worked across separate systems with limited visibility and coordination.

Eoghan Kenny, Co-Founder and CEO

For more than 20 years, Eoghan has helped organisations implement governance, risk and compliance systems, prepare for audits and achieve certification across a wide range of standards and regulatory frameworks.

Having worked alongside hundreds of organisations across different industries, he has developed a deep understanding of how compliance can be operationalised in a way that supports business performance, not just certification outcomes.

Derek Mizak, Co-Founder and CTO

Derek brings over 30 years of experience across cybersecurity, IT operations, audit and systems architecture in regulated and standards-driven environments.

Having worked both as a practitioner and as a certification body auditor, he has spent decades assessing, implementing and improving governance and compliance systems, giving him a unique understanding of what organisations need to operate with confidence and demonstrate compliance effectively.

Dominic O'Toole, Co-Founder and CPO

With over 20 years of experience building and leading software teams, Dominic has worked across engineering, systems architecture and product development in complex operational environments.
